FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).
Hitler sets a great tradition that will last for a long time if not forever as the author says "The Olympic torch relay ceremony was Hitler’s idea for the 1936 Berlin Olympic games. We haven’t since gotten rid of the ceremony" (Grant J. Kidney).
Hitler probably improved health during his rule as the author states that "Hitler was vehemently anti-smoking. The Nazi’s were also the first to link smoking to the contraction of cancer" (Grant J. Kidney).
The economy became better under Nazi rule, for example "Before coming into power in 1933, mass unemployment crippled the German economy. The global depression of that era made it so that a wheelbarrow full of money couldn’t even buy a loaf of bread. When the Nazis stormed on to the scene, they put everyone back to work. Over night, the wheels of the economy were turning once more and money was flowing back into people’s pockets" (Grant J. Kidney).
The Volkswagen helped everyone in economic and beneficial ways and "Hitler wanted every German, whether rich or poor, to have a car. And thus he invented the Volkswagen (“People’s Car”)" (Grant J. Kidney).
Hitler and the nazis wanted to prevent all sorts of animals from danger as the author states "Hitler and many top Nazis were environmentalist types who cared deeply about animals and their rights. The Nazis were among the first to put in place laws protecting animals from abuse" (Grant J. Kidney).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

Grant J. Kidney gives six beneficial acts that Hitler did as a leader throughout the article. He first mentions how tired he is of how people and students automatically think of evil whenever they hear Hitler's name because all the media wants to talk about was how evil the third reich was. Then he lists the six good things that Hitler offered to the world and explained each of them as well.

Credibility of Source: Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

Grant J. Kidney is a renegade free-thinker, artist, and author. His primary pursuit in life is challenging the existent social orders of the world by various means of art, writing, audio, and video.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

There is a bunch of attachments and ads that come along with this online article.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

There is a pretty strong bias due to the fact that the author only looks at the positive and beneficial side to Hitler's decisions and actions.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author only sites his sources.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I plan to use this source to make my argument stronger on how Hitler only wanted to do good not only for the German people but for the rest of the Europe and the World as well. And to provide hard evidence that lists all the beneficial programmes and economic policies that Hitler passed under his rule.

EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).
As said befor, Hitler was only raised into antisemetic views and was not born racist as said by the author "Adolf Hitler, murderer of millions, master of destruction and organized insanity, did not come into the world as a monster. He was not sent to earth by the devil, nor was he sent by heaven... At half past six on the evening of April 20th, 1889 an innocent child was born in the small town of Braunau Am Inn, Austria" (Louis Bulow).
It was no surprise that the city of Vienna only brought dissapointment and anger "To fulfil his dream, Hitler in 1909 moved to Vienna, the capital of Austria, where the Academy of Arts was located. To his own surprise he failed to get admission. Within a year he was living in homeless shelters and eating at charity soup-kitchens. He spent his time reading anti-Semitic tabloids and pamphlets available at the newsstands and at local coffee shops" and in time, Hitler would blame his failures on the most attacked minority group in Vienna's antisemetic newspapers (Louis Bulow).
Hitler was fully responsible for the order for the mass executions in Poland in 1939 and 1940 and "He was also actively engaged in setting up plans for a Jewish reservation in Poland and he backed the Madagascar plan. He was continually preoccupied with further deportations and deportation plans. In 1941 Hitler ordered the extermination of the Jewish-Bolshevist intelligentsia and the elimination of every potential enemy in the occupied Eastern territories. He was fully aware of mass executions of Jewish civilians in these territories" (Louis Bulow).
In Germany concentration camps were set up after 1933 to detain without legal procedure and attacked the "Jews, Communists, Gypsies, homosexuals, and others. During World War II extermination, or death, camps were established for the sole purpose of killing men, women, and children... also interned during the war, and a large proportion died of gross mistreatment, malnutrition, and disease" (Louis Bulow).
Their is no doubt that due to Hitler's actions "The Holocaust represents 11 million lives that abruptly ended, the extermination of people not for who they were but for what they were" (Louis Bulow).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words.

Louis Bülow first gives a brief biography of Adolf Hitler and his upbringings throughout the time he was a child to his days in Vienna.  Then they give a brief description about the Nazis' plans to "cleanse Europe" which involved a massive genocide.  Information is given on the death toll of the Holocaust victims and in the end, the author mentions the Nazis' downfall.
Credibility of Source: Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

The author doesn't give much private information but they do specialize in informing readers about the Holocaust.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

It is just an informative site mainly about the Holocaust.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

In the beginning, the author gave an unbiased view, however from the middle to the end the author was more against Hitler and the Nazis.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author doesn't site any references.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I plan to use this source as a counterargument. I will first describe the severity and the cruelty of the Holocaust before I go any further describing my topic. I hope that this source makes my argument stronger and less confusing.

EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).
The reason why Germany was left in ruins is because "His downfall was drugs " (James L. Donahue).
Historians argue that wasn't fully responsible for the decisions that he made and rather the medications he was taking that were given to him by his quackish doctor Theodor Morrell. "But the man began mixing this drug with heroin. The combination drove him insane. After a while he lost his ability to be rational about the decisions he made. He consequently made deadly mistakes. They cost Germany the war and cost Hitler his life" (James L. Donahue).
The author even recommends that viewers should see Hitler in the most unbiased way possible "To be fair, we must remember that Hitler was a very popular leader among the German people before the war. He rose to power during a period of deep financial crisis, when the entire world was suffering from the Great Depression. Hitler brought stabilization to the nation's failing economy, created jobs, regenerated national pride after Germany was defeated in the Great War, and he developed social programs that people liked" (James L. Donahue).
The author gives a positive point of view on how "Hitler also was a genius in that he was able, in such a short time, to turn a defeated people into a war engine, the likes of which the world has never seen. He brought together a team of scientists who helped develop technologies that still influence the way we live. The popular Volkswagen "bug" was designed and produced on his order because he wanted Germany to have a car for the common man. He was a dynamic public speaker who excited the imagination of all who listened" (James L. Donahue).
Because of Hitler's involvement in the Holocaust, many refuse to realize the many positive contributions he had inputed, but "... Hitler failed. He consequently went down in the books as a demon-possessed character that never should have lived" (James L. Donahue).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

James L. Donahue gives a brief explanation on how Hitler helped the German economy after WWI and on how he inspired the German people. He also explains the fact that Hitler did intake drug consumptions that greatly influenced his irrational decisions towards the end of WWII and which cost Germany the war and its destruction. The author questions whether or not it was really Hitler's fault that Germany was left in complete ruins after WWII ended, or was the drugs that he was consuming at the time.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

James L. Donahue is a retired newspaper reporter, editor and columnist with more than 40 years of experience in professional writing. He currently produces an estimated five articles weekly for this web site.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

The site is just simply informative.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

There is a bias due to the fact that the author does not go against Hitler and rather speaks of his accomplishments.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author doesn't site any references which can cause the argument to be not as strong.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I plan to use this source to support the idea that the reason why Germany was left in complete ruins after WWII wasn't entirely Hitler's fault and rather the drugs that he was consuming at the time.

FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):

Hitler had a few main ideas to start off how he would help recover the German economy which the author lists "
  1. Full employment - the idea that everyone should have a job. By 1939, there was virtually no unemployment in Germany.
  2. Beauty of Work - the Nazis set up the SdA (Beauty of Work) to help Germans see that work was good, and that everyone who could work should. In fact - because the Nazis had abolished the trade unions, banned strikes, and given more power to the industrialists - real wages fell and hours were longer under Hitler.
  3. Re-armament begun in 1935 - the idea of 'guns before butter'"(POV).
There soon was no unemployment "Everybody had a job, and a wage. To people who had been unemployed and starving, 'work and bread' was a wonderful blessing worth every civil liberty they lost" (POV).
LIfe became more advanced for the German people "The autobahns improved transport and travel" (POV).
The services improved under Hitler's rule and "People appreciated the public works - eg new schools and hospitals" (POV).
People now felt safe as "The streets were safe and there was no crime" (POV).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

The author gives and lists all the positive economic policies that helped Germany under Nazi rule. It also provided few negative aspects, such as the economic programmes that failed but that did no damage to hurt the  German economy either. The author also gave descriptions on what the programmes and policies were and explained how each benefitted the economy as well.
Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

The author is anonymous and the site is BBC, which is the world's leading public service broadcaster. Its mission is to enrich people's lives with programmes that inform, educate, and entertain.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

The site has alot of educational links on all sorts of history and education.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

There is a bias due to the fact that the author focuses much more on the positive aspects and positive benefits of Hitler's economic policies under his Nazi rule.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author does not cite anyone which may cause their argument to be not as strong as they would like.
